Frequently Asked Questions

General FAQs

  • When are the Home Association Meetings?

The meetings are held typically the second Tuesday of the month, usally at 7 PM. The location of the meeting varies and are announced in the neighborhood Facebook group, via email and on our web site as a pop-up. All residents are encouraged to attend and participate in meetings.

  • How much are the quarterly dues and where should I send them?

HOA dues are $126.50 per quarter, as of Q1 2023.  You can mail all payments to:

    North Lakes HOA
    4200 Somerset Drive Suite 216
    Prairie Village, KS 66208

  • What if I am unable to pay my dues?

Anyone not paid up on their HOA dues will not have pool privileges until paid in full. Dues not paid over an extended period of time will be turned over to legal counsel and may result in a lien being placed on the residence. The Resident would be, as our HOA legal documents indicate, responsible for dues, legal fees and interest if that should occur.

  • How do I get added to the community’s email distribution list?

Submit your name, address, email address and phone number using the Contact Us email to HOA board process on this site or contact one of the listed board members directly.

  • May a resident rent the pool for a private party?

No rental of the pool is permitted. The pool is for the enjoyment of all residents. Residents are limited to 5 guests at a time. Additional rules relating to the pool are available in the doco section in the header of all pages.

  • Who do I contact if I want to make an exterior change to my residence such as a fence, new roof, painting, deck or patio?

A formal request as well as a copy of plans should be submitted to the board for review.  Please obtain the official architectural form and submit it to northlakeskc@gmail.com with your plans. General architectural guidelines are provided in the docoument which is accessible via all web pages menu in the legal documents sections.

  • I am new to North Lakes and desire access to the pool. How do I get access?

Please contact the Board via our email address at -->northlakeskc@gmail.com. You could also contact the pool committee member directly as well.

  • I would like to send an email to all the residents of North Lakes, may I have access to the resident email distribution list?

For the safety and privacy of our residents, the email list is not shared or used for purposes not directly related to the Association or events of interest to the entire neighborhood.

  • I would like to get involved in the Association – who do I contact?

We, the board, are always looking for home owners to assist us in many projects. We are all after the same thing, keeping property values up and creating a safe atmosphere for all. Use the Contact Us  web page or contact one of the board members directly.

  • Access to Association Pool

As of May 2023 a new system has been implemented. This system consists of an app placed on your IPhone (Android app not available as of 6/2023) or a physical token given to your family. The IPhone App or the token will emit a code to unlock the door to the pool. A recording event of the pool access at that time. As always, any guests are your responsibility and there is a maximum of 5 guests per family. The door lock will only operate during the operational hours of the pool and will be inoperable should there be a pool problem that requires closure of the pool. Contact the board via the contact page to request access or if having problems with the token or app supplied.

  • Access to Lakes

First and most important is: lake is enjoyed at users’ own risk and there are no life guards.

Both the large and small lake are private lakes owned by the Association and thus the home owners. Only home owners and guests are permitted on the lake and its grounds. The guest must be accompanied by a home owner. Documentation on all the lake rules are found in the document section of this web site.
